Time and time again, research shows that playing a musical instrument helps you perform better at school and work. It strengthens your brain, develops problem solving and critical-thinking skills, and improves your ability to communicate more effectively. Learning music can also improve self-confidence and help students excel in science, reading, and math.
Our brains love to learn something new. Just 30 minutes of training can positively affect brain patterns, enhance verbal memory, positively impact one’s reading ability, executive functions, and strengthen brain circuits.
Please encourage your son/daughter to participate fully in music class, and if they have the opportunity to learn an instrument, embrace it full heartedly! Important to note is that it is never too late to start! No matter what age you are, you will reap the benefits of learning an instrument!
